Travellers Cheques and currency
Travellers Cheques supplied by the Bank are American Express branded and they can be cashed worldwide, at banks, bureaux de change, hotels, etc.
It is usually an advantage, when travelling, to exchange Travellers Cheques at a bank. This will ensure that you receive the best available rate of exchange (where appropriate) and that commission, where charged, is kept to a minimum.
When travelling within the United States, travellers should be advised to take US Dollar Travellers Cheques and use them in the same way as cash, at shops, hotels, etc., as encashment at banks may incur commission charges and, outside New York, banks may refuse to cash Travellers Cheques.
