Easy steps to transferring your Current account

Moving your current account from one bank or building society to another can seem daunting. This is why we'll transfer your account with the minimum of hassle. If you want us to transfer your account simply print off and sign an account transfer mandate. Alternatively you will find a mandate in your Welcome Guide or phone us on 08457 212 212.

We can even arrange for your salary to be paid directly into your account.

Once you have signed your account transfer mandate we will:

  • Step one - activate your account
    This ensures that your old bank or building society sends us a list of all your direct debits and standing orders to set up your new Co-operative bank current account
  • Step two - balance transfer
    This step ensures that your existing balance is transferred to your new Co-operative bank account
  • Step three - close your old account - if requested
    If you would like us to, we can close your existing account at your old bank or building society.

We will make sure that your account is transferred as quickly as possible.
